An abstract for a poster on the VACSATC project has been accepted for presentation at The European
Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases Annual Meeting (ESPID) in Nice, France, 4-8 May 2010.

The Szczepienia.info website has been evaluated by the WHO Vaccine Safety Net

Universal Doctor
A collection of tools for doctor-patient communication were demonstrated at the meeting in Madrid. The tools, called Universal Doctor, include videos and
leaflets in different languages which use clear visual messages. There is also the Universal Doctor speaker, a computer assisted translation programme.
The increasing mobility of people across country borders makes communication more and more challenging and the Universal Doctor instruments can be a helpful
addition to traditional methods.

Eurovaccine conference announced
ECDC held the first European conference on vaccination and immunisation in Stockholm on Friday, December 11, 2009. There was also be a webcast of the conference. Eurovaccine is to become a yearly event.

Summer school on vaccinology
An international Summer School on Vaccinology was held 9-15 July 2009 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The summer school is an initiative of the Centre for the Evaluation of Vaccination at the University of Antwerp in partnership with the European Medical Students Association (EMSA).

Poster at ESPID
A poster titled "TRAINING OF NURSE, MIDWIFE AND MEDICAL STUDENTS IN VACCINOLOGY: BENCHMARKING EXERCISE IN EUROPE"
was presented at the 27th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases
(June 11 and June 12, 2009).

Two websites have recently been submitted to the WHO Vaccine Safety Net for evaluation. The Polish site http://szczepienia.pzh.gov.pl

Meeting in Ljubljana
Meetings for Work Packages 5, 6 and 7 and the Steering Board were held in Ljubljana, Slovenia
4-5 December 2008.

Attitudinal studies tool kit
Work in WP5 is progressing and a version of a Tool Kit for conducting attitudinal
studies has been produced. A review of available literature on attitudes to immunisations
has also been conducted and summarised in a document.

VACSATC presented at NorVac
The VACSATC project was presented at the Nordic Vaccine meeting in Mariehamn, Åland,
Finland on the 5 September 2008.

Linked database survey
In connection with the WP4 meeting in Vienna a survey was carried out. It was designed
to investigate progress in different European countries when it comes to linked
database studies on vaccine safety. The results show that usage of registers varies
widely. All respondents were interested in future collaborations.
