To conduct a feasibility study on large linked database systems to evaluate real or perceived vaccine safety problems.
To collect and summarise existing studies on public perceptions of vaccines and methods used. - Initiate, carry out and evaluate a pilot and/or full-scale survey on parents' attitudes towards immunisations. - Develop a best practice ‘toolkit’ for Europe wide use on survey methodologies based on experiences gained throughout the project.
To improve training of health professionals. - Assess the medical and paramedical curricula in partner countries and report on possible improvements in the training on aspects of vaccines and vaccinations, including vaccine safety and information, education and communication to the general public. - Provide tools to improve pre-service training of future health personnel. - Develop criteria for good training and tools for quality and evaluation.
To increase the number of websites with information on vaccine safety. - Increase the number of websites in member countries meeting the WHO Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety quality criteria for information on vaccine safety.
