Attitudes

Attitudinal studies

Studies to find out about attitudes to immunisations were conducted in the following countries:

  • Belgium
  • England
  • Estonia
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Romania
  • Slovenia
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Turkey

Findings from research into attitudes and awareness of vaccination/immunisation amongst parents and health professionals are extremely useful. From experience, we know that they can inform policy and help health professionals/providers gain a better understanding of what is required by way of provision of information for the public. It also enables them to gain better insight into the acceptability of vaccination provision and to understand the public’s experience of accessing vaccination services provided in a specific country or region. Where information programmes are available to support the national immunisation programme, research can ensure that provision of such information matches the target population’s needs. Well-executed research has the potential to make an important contribution to the success of immunisation programmes. For help with conducting attitudinal studies see the
